On description of electrical effects in two-fluid model of superfluidity

Abstract

A model of the electrothermal effect in a superfluid is proposed. It is suggested that the superfluid state is an ordered state of the isotropic quadrupole moment which does not exhibit any electric properties in an equilibrium fluid. The polarization properties of the liquid are excited by inhomogeneous distribution of the superfluid flux. The Landau equations for superfluid hydrodynamics are supplemented with an equation which links electrical polarization of the medium with superfluid component density and superfluid flux inhomogeneity. The value of expected electric potential oscillations in the second-sound wave is in agreement with Rybalko`s data.
