Generation of concentration and temperature oscillations by vibrating bodies in superfluid 3He–4He solution

Abstract

We study the generation of concentration and temperature oscillations in waves of the first and second sounds and in a thermal wave by vibrating bodies in superfluid solutions of 3He–4He with a small concentration exceeding 10% of 3He are studied. In particular, the possibility of radiation of second sound and a thermal dissipative wave by an oscillating tuning fork, the efficiency of such radiation as a function of the concentration of the solution, and the possible effect of this radiation on the damping of vibrations of the tuning fork, which is observed in experiments and has not yet been explained theoretically are considered in this paper.
