On the phase transition of He II to He I in the presence of macroscopic motion

Abstract

A hydrodynamic and thermodynamic consideration of number of problems related to the phase transition of He II to He I in the presence of macroscopic motion is carried out in the frame-work of Landau theory. In particular, it is shown that the transi-tion in a rotating helium is a first-order one.
