Sensitivity of a superconducting photon detector with a normal domain

The article analyzes the thresholdless electromagnetic radiation detector, which is a current-carrying superconducting film with a normal domain. A normal domain is formed as a result of heat-ing a portion of the film with an external heat source and Joule heat in the domain. The detection mechanism is that heating the film with electromagnetic radiation leads to an increase in the length of the normal domain and thereby to an increase in the voltage across the film. The sensitivity of the considered detector is calculated and the conditions under which this sensitivity reaches its maximum value are determined.
