Orientational effect in magnetoresistance of organic conductors

Abstract

The asymptotic behavior of magnetoresistance in organic layered conductors for arbitrary orientations of strong magnetic field H with respect to layers is analyzed. It is shown that when the current flows along the nornal to the layers n, the amplitude of Shubnikov-de Haase oscillations have sharp peaks as a function of the angle between vectors n and H. The experimental investigation of the orientational effect in quasi-two-dimensional conductors opens up possibilities for studying the charge carrier energy spectrum in detail.
