Abstract

The nonlinear dynamics of surface acoustic waves near the surface of linear elastic half space coated with a nonlinear material monolayer is investigated. A nonlinear one-dimensional integro-differential equation, which describes the dynamics of this system, is derived. Rayleigh stationary shape solitons are studied in the framework of the proposed model. Possible phenomenological generalizations of the derived equations and their exact soliton solutions are discussed.
