Bose-Einstein condensation of dipolar excitons in lateral traps

Abstract

The phase diagram of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) is measured for dipolar excitons accumulated in a lateral electrostatic trap. The spatially periodic luminescent patterns of excitonic Bose condensate are shown to exhibit a critical dependence on pumping and temperature. Coherence of luminescence light under conditions of BEC of dipolar excitons is studied by direct measurements of both 1st- and 2nd-order correlators at variation of pumping intensity and temperature. The obtained results indicate a large-scale coherence of the excitonic condensate.
