The manifestation of charge transfer transitions in photoluminescence spectra of Zn1-xMexO oxide (Me - Mn, Ni, Co) compounds

Abstract

The paper concerns the investigation of Zn1–xCoxO and Zn1–xNixO crystals by the photoluminescent method at temperatures of 8 K and 90 K. Taking into account the expansions of the photoluminescence spectra into the sums of distributions Gauss functions and the well-known positions of donor and acceptor levels of 3d-impurities regarding the edges of conduction and valence bands, we interpreted the peaks observed in the photoluminescence spectra as a result of radiative recombination through the donor and acceptor levels of nickel and cobalt ions. The obtained results are compared with the peculiarities observed earlier in the photoluminescence spectra of Zn1–xMnxO crystals.
